Photos: Field Day 2009

The 2009 ARRL Field Day took place on the weekend of June 27 and 28. As in past years, the FCARC Field Day operation took place at Poet's Seat, on the summit of Greenfield's own Rocky Mountain.

Our operation in Class 2A featured cw and ssb stations operating continuously for almost 24 hours, starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday. In addition we had a VHF station on 6 meters and a GOTA (Get On The Air) station for newcomers and inactive hams. The two main stations were located in the club trailer, maintained for use as a mobile emergency communications center. The GOTA and VHF stations were set up on the ground level of the Poet's Seat tower, highly visible to visitors to this scenic spot. The tower itself was used to support the ends of three wire antennas and a six meter beam.
